Coogee is located approximately 7 kilometres south-east of the CBD in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs in the local government area of Randwick. The suburb is serviced by buses direct to the CBD or alternatively Bondi Junction train station is only a short bus ride away.
Coogee has a mix of older-style apartments, new townhouses and apartments, Californian bungalows, federation cottages and large modern double-storey homes on approximately 500m2 of land. Most of the 1960’s apartments have been renovated and many have ocean views.

Other nearby schools include South Coogee Public School; Emanuel School, Randwick Public School, Coogee Boys Prepatory School, Marcellin College, Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart Primary School, Open High School, St Margaret Marys School, Randwick Girls and Boys High Schools and Claremont College in Randwick; and St Anthony’s Primary School in Clovelly. The University of New South Wales in Kensington is also nearby.
Recreation and other Amenities
Coogee Beach once rivalled Bondi Beach in popularity, however it is still a popular recreational spot for locals and tourists alike. Major redevelopment of the seashore area in the late 1980’s including refurbishment of the Coogee Bay Hotel aimed to return the area to its former glory. This was followed up in 2014 by a $30 million renovation of the Beach Palace Hotel and The Aquarium, which reopened as ‘The Pavilion.’
Nearby recreational opportunities include the Ritz Cinema at The Spit in Randwick, sporadic events at Randwick Racecourse and picnic and sporting opportunities at Centennial Park including running, cycling, roller blading, horseback riding and sporting fields. There are also several gyms to choose from in Coogee in the suburb.
