DARLING POINT, NSW REAL ESTATE BUYERS AGENTS

    Location and Transport Links

Darling Point is located 2.8 kilometres east of the CBD in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in the local government area of Woollahra. The suburb is surrounded by water to the west, north and east. Darling Point is tucked away from the Eastern Suburbs train line however buses connect to Edgecliff trains and buses bound for the CBD. The Eastern Suburbs ferry service also has limited stops at Darling Point wharf and travels to Circular Quay via Double Bay.

    Property types

Darling Point’s grand Victorian and Federation era restored mansions and boutique apartment blocks stand beside modern luxury townhouses and apartments. There are also a number of large post-World War II apartment blocks in the area. Properties with harbour views such as those along Yarranabbe Road logically fetch a premium to those properties without.

    Shops and Restaurants

There is a small local store with the essentials as well as gourmet supermarket Gourmet Life while all the other requirements can be found in neighbouring suburbs. Double Bay has a variety of boutique retail shops and gourmet cafes and Edgecliff Centre contains a range of speciality shops as well as Aldi and Coles supermarkets. Darling Point also has a couple of options for eating out – Blue Water Grille at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia on New Beach Road has a view of the harbour and is great for special occasions while Bei Amici on Mona Road is more relaxed yet offers quality Italian and seafood fare.

    Schools and Educational Facilities

There are no schools within the small suburb of Darling Point however Double Bay School, Ascham School, Edgecliff Preparatory School, Sydney Grammar School and Reddam House School are all nearby. Many more of Sydney’s best schools in the eastern suburbs can be reached via a short train journey from Edgecliff station.

    Recreation and other Amenities

Darling Point offers multiple waterfront parks including Rushcutters Bay Park, Yarranabbe Park and McKell Park (entrance to the Darling Point Wharf). The Cruising Yacht Club (CYC) of Australia holds regular sailing events and hosts the annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race. There is also a good selection of gyms and personal training services in nearby Double Bay, Edgecliff and Potts Point.

Why people live in Darling Point?

A quiet retreat only 3km from the CBD allows residents to hide from the hustle and bustle of the inner city yet be within easy reach of Sydney’s best restaurants when a night out is preferred.
