ELIZABETH BAY, NSW REAL ESTATE BUYERS AGENTS

    Location and Transport Links

Elizabeth Bay is located approximately 2 kilometres east of the CBD in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in the local government area of Sydney. Kings Cross train station offers quick access to the city and the beaches via Bondi Junction. Busses also service the suburb and travel east, west and south.

    Property types

Apartments dominate in Elizabeth Bay, however that doesn’t mean properties in the area are low quality or inexpensive. The majority of residents in the suburb are classified as ‘Maturing and Established Independence’ and are very discerning when it comes to where they live. Apartments vary in age and architecture from converted Victorian mansions to art deco, post-World War II and post-modern. Many of these offer breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour. Elizabeth Bay also contains the State heritage listed ‘Elizabeth Bay House’ which is a fine example of Regency architecture from the early 19th Century and was once known as ‘the finest house in the colony.’

    Shops and Restaurants

Café Two Ants and Elizabeth Bay Café are the local weekend brunch spots. The suburb also has a convenience store and a bottle shop, however you will need to travel further afield for more than the essentials. Woolworths and Harris Farm markets in Potts Point are a short stroll away whilst there are a wide range of shops and restaurants in nearby Potts Point, Darlinghurst and Double Bay.

    Schools and Educational Facilities

Although there are no schools within Elizabeth Bay, there are a wide range of schools nearby. Independent schools within short driving distance include St Vincent’s College in Potts Point, Reddam House in Woollahra, Ascham School in Edgecliff, SCEGGS, Sydney Grammar School and East Sydney High School in Darlinghurst, Cranbrook and Scots in Bellevue Hill and finally Australian Pacific College, St Andrew’s Cathedral School and Macquarie Grammar School in Sydney. Sydney Girls and Sydney Boys High Schools in Surry Hills are both reputable government schools and several public primary schools are also nearby.

    Recreation and other Amenities

Elizabeth Bay is perfect if you enjoy sailing or other water sports. The Elizabeth Bay Marina can organise a boat charter for you or lease you a mooring if you are fortunate enough to have your own vessel.
The suburb contains a few small parks, however there are several larger parks and reserves within running distance including Rushcutters Bay Park (including tennis facilities), Hyde Park and the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens. Head to Cook and Phillip Park Pool if you enjoy a swim or Centennial Park if cycling is your preferred sport. For a gym workout, visit Snap Fitness or Anytime Fitness in Potts Point.

Why people live in Elizabeth Bay?

Luxury waterfront apartments with stunning waterfront views, easy access to the city and access to Sydney’s best schools.
