    North Balgowlah is located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, 10 kilometres north east of the CBD in the Warringah LGA. The E41 express bus travels from North Balgowlah to Manly Wharf in the morning peak hour and connects with ferry services departing for circular quay (and vice versa in the afternoon).

    Property types

    Detached houses make up the vast majority of properties in North Balgowlah. Most houses were constructed post World War II. Many of these have been nicely renovated while others have been replaced with modern double storey houses.

    Shops and Restaurants

    The local shopping village on Woodbine Street offers a convenience store, butcher, bakery, fruit market, pharmacy, newsagency, medical centre, bottle shop and a couple of cafés. Other options include Seaforth shops, Stockland Balgowlah (with over 60 stores) and Warringah Mall (more than 340 stores once its expansion is completed).

    Schools and Educational Facilities

    Balgowlah North Public School is the local primary school. Northern Beaches Secondary College has boys and girls campuses in Balgowlah and Manly Vale respectively.

    Recreation and other Amenities

    Manly Dam Reserve (also known as the Manly Warringah War Memorial Park) covers 376 hectares and offers a variety of recreational activities including bushwalking, mountain biking, water skiing, fishing, kayaking, swimming and 45 picnic tables which have scenic views and most have wood fired barbeques. If you prefer to relax on a beach, it’s only a 16 minute bus ride to Manly on the express bus. Golfing fans are spoilt for choice with Balgowlah, Manly, Warringah and Wakehurst Golf Clubs all within short driving distance. LM Graham Reserve is next to Manly Golf Club and features a full size outdoor basketball court and cricket nets and is also a popular meeting place for dog walkers. The Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Swim Centre is currently undergoing a renovation and will shortly feature an indoor 25m pool, children’s pool, spa pool, sauna, steam room, fitness centre and crèche in addition to the existing 25m and 50m outdoor pools.
