WAVERLEY, NSW REAL ESTATE BUYERS AGENTS

    Location and Transport Links

Waverley is located 5.5 kilometres south-east of the CBD in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in the local government area of Waverley. Bondi Junction station provides fast commutes via train to the CBD and is a 15 to 20 minute walk or a short bus ride along Bronte Rd.

    Property types

The suburb contains a wide range of properties from Federation homes and Victorian terraces (many beautifully renovated) to modern architect designed homes. Apartments make up roughly half of the dwellings in Waverley and comprise a mixture of art deco units, 60’s and 70’s solid brick buildings and modern complexes.

    Shops and Restaurants

The shopping strip along Bronte Rd near the intersection of Carrington Road is known as Charing Cross and contains a wide selection of shops and restaurants including the popular Charing Cross Pizza Bar and Restaurant. The area was once a hub but declined following the development of Westfield Bondi but is now growing again following a renovation of the Charing Cross and the gentrification of the area. Indeed, Westfield offers a multitude of shopping options including speciality stores, supermarkets and department stores.

    Schools and Educational Facilities

Waverley contains Waverley Public School and Clovelly Public School as well as several independent schools including St Catherine’s School (for girls), Waverley College (for boys), St Charles Primary School and St Clare’s College (for girls). There are also a number of independent schools in the surrounding area including Scots College, Moriah War Memorial College, Claremont College, Coogee Boys Prepatory School, Montessori East Pre-School and Primary School, Emanual School and Reddam House. There are also many nearby public primary and pre-schools.

    Recreation and other Amenities

Waverley encompasses several small parks and borders the expansive Centennial Parklands which includes Queens Park and the 189 hectare Centennial Park. The parklands are perfect for cycling, running, horseback riding, picnics and sports such as rugby, soccer and cricket. Lawn bowling fans can choose between Waverley and Bronte Bowling Clubs. Bondi Junction contains multiple gyms as well as Event Cinemas Westfield shopping centre. The outdoor moonlight cinema in Centennial Park runs from December to March each year. Alternatively, head to Hoyts Cinema at The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park. For a spot of golf, visit Moore Park or Bondi Golf Clubs. Tamarama, Bronte and Bondi Beaches are also close by.

     Why people live in Waverley?

Centennial Park at your doorstep and good access to the CBD and Eastern Suburbs beaches.
