    Where is Jannali located?

Jannali is located 28 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of the Sutherland Shire. The suburb is split down the middle by the north - south rail line and most of the local shops centre around the Jannali train station.

    What housing types are predominant?

Houses are the most common dwelling style dominating the suburb along with a variety of older & newer semi-detached dwellings. 17% of dwellings in the area are units. 65% are Houses, 12% semi-detached and 6% other/commercial.
Age mix for the suburb is 0 to 29 yo is 37%, 30 to 49 yo is 30%, 50 & above is 33% so it’s a very attractive suburb for families and retirees.

What attracts home buyers & investors to Jannali?

According to Residex, Jannali experienced market growth of around 15.2% from July 2016 to January 2020.
the suburb of Jannali is within good striking distance of Sydney Airport (just 20km away/ 30 mins) and is commutable to the CBD, at 28km from the centre of Sydney. there is a direct rail link to Central station and to Wollongong – trains take about 40-45 minutes to reach the centre of Sydney.
Affordability is a big driver for property buyers looking to buy in Jannali and it has good ratings for low crime, open space, not too far from the beach and friendly parks and other amenities.

    Restaurants, Shops & Entertainment

Jannali is a gorgeous suburb with everything a person could want when thinking about living in sydney. Only 20 minutes from the nearest beach and only 5 minutes from the Como Pleasure grounds which have panoramic views of the Georges river and surrounding bushland. It also is home to the Como swimming complex. Jannali is also only 15 minutes from the royal national park and is quite close (5 minutes) from the nearest Bunnings and Coles. If you’re after a good coffee then Jannali Avenue has you covered. A particular favourite is West End Espresso.

    Sports, Fitness & Health

A weekend with nature sure is a fun thing to do. The Sunnyside Avenue is one where the family can enjoy.
The Sutherland Hospital is located here, offering a range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare including aged and rehabilitation services. The Kareena Private Hospital is just nearby and has recently upgraded its maternity unit.

    Schools & Educational

Jannili has three public schools: the Jannali High School, Jannali Public School & Jannali East Public School. The Jannali High School was formed in 1992 from the amalgamation of Jannali Girls' High School (1953) and Jannali Boys' High School (1956). Jannali East primary opened in 1956.

What can my money buy in Jannali?

Price growth in recent years has been poor in Jannali with prices contracting slightly from 2017 to now. Residex notes that 0.54% of properties in the suburb are currently on the market which shows there is very limited stock available. Growth has been consistently healthy for houses averaging at 10.7% p.a and units achieving 10.3% for the last 10 years though so perhaps a change in the market is coming soon.
Residex notes the median house price now sits at around $1.16m. Around $1.1m to $1.3m will buy you a 3–4-bedroom 1-2 bathroom fully detached, on around 600m2. Units vary significantly depending on the age of the building number in the block and proximity to amenities and views.
