On the first weekend of inspections, Serge was able to drive up and we looked at a few properties together. It was great that Serge lived close enough to the search area to attend inspections. Also nice to meet a buyer face to face. He is an intelligent young man and asked many appropriate questions. After lodging a couple of offers which we missed, we found a property with some land movement at the front of the house while the house internally showed no evidence of movement at all. The B & P report indicated a structural check was recommended which Serge was happy to arrange and pay for. He also engaged a plumber to check if any movement had affected the plumbing foundations or drainage at the property. Everything about the structure in relation to movement was reported as sound, with no further remedies suggested. We negotiated a $1900 reduction in price to fix a few minor issues including replacing a concrete front step which had moved out of place. With the large step giving a "first impression", it was important to have it replaced. Serge was a delight to work with, he was decisive, willing and listed to local knowledge and didn't waste time making a decision when we found a property that met his brief. Although there was a cost to confirm the property was sound, it provided peace of mind and confidence to move forward to settlement. The whole experience for us both was very positive.}'}
