Kelly was an investor with a $1 million budget on the Central Coast, and wanted to find a good property which was large enough to build a granny flat in the backyard for additional income. Kelly was a busy professional with a young family and had found that searching on weekends was just getting too much and she kept missing out on opportunities because other buyers snapped them up. Through my established network I uncovered a 4-bedroom house on a large 750 square metre block of land that was reasonably close to schools and the local shops – and it was an easy building block for a granny flat. While the owner wanted well over $1m, I managed to negotiate a price of $950k and made arrangements for the existing tenant to stay on.  I then introduced a reputable granny flat builder to quote for building works.
