Forr Street High School located on Parramatta Road, is the oldest selective school in NSW. Petersham Public School sits on Petersham and Lewisham borders. Taverners Hill Public School situated on Elswick Street is an infants only school with 60 students and recently published its own cook book! There is also Petersham College (TAFE).

The suburb is dotted with picturesque parks, Petersham Park being the most impressive. You’ll also find a great network of cycle-ways in Petersham and plenty of areas to park your bike. Locals enjoy access to wide range of sporting competitions run in the area.
