Watty had been looking for 6 months when I met him. He wanted to get out of the rental home and find somewhere safe and convenient that would suit him and his elderly mother. They were only expecting to find a 2-bedroom unit. I showed them a 3-bedroom townhouse, but they said they couldn’t afford the guide of $700’s the real estate agent was going to auction with. I asked them what they could afford, then negotiated lower than that, and 6 days after meeting Watty he had an acceptance and exchange of contracts on his dream townhouse in Smithfield.
