POINT PIPER 2027, NSW

Location and Transport Links

Point Piper is located on the southern side of Sydney Harbour and is flanked by Double Bay to the west and Rose Bay to the east. It is in the local government area of Woollahra and is approximately 4 kilometres east of the CBD. As Point Piper is such a small suburb and surrounded by water on three sides, it has limited public transport options. However, this is how the residents of the suburb like it and the city is a short 20 minute drive (depending on traffic). If you must reach Point Piper by public transport, you can take the bus from New South Head Road or the ferry from Double Bay or Rose Bay.

Property types

Point Piper is Australia’s most expensive suburb and properties in the area reflect this. The suburb showcases some suburb examples of each architecture era from early Victorian to Post-Modernism. Many of the waterfront properties are commanding architectural masterpieces with spectacular harbour views and extend over three or four levels. The majority of apartments are set back from the waterfront and were constructed between the two world wars.

Shops and Restaurants

In keeping with Point Piper’s exclusive and quiet feel, the suburb has a lack of shops and restaurants. Fortunately, there is a wide selection of shops and restaurants along in neighbouring Double Bay and Rose Bay. Members of the Royal Motor Yacht Club and their guests can also dine at the upmarket member’s restaurant.

Schools and Educational Facilities

Point Piper offers two beaches for relaxing and marvelling at the waterfront properties; Seven Shillings and Lady Martin’s. At the south end of Seven Shillings beach in Double Bay is Murray Rose Ocean Pool which offers an enclosed area to swim free from the dangers of the Harbour. If you prefer something more energetic, there is also a running trail that follows the waterfront south east from Point Piper Marina towards Rose Bay or you could take part in the seasonal regattas run by the Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club. For more activities, head to Double Bay or Rose Bay for gyms, tennis courts, playing fields and indoor swimming.
