Queens Park is located approximately 5 kilometres south-east of the CBD in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in the local government area of Waverley. Bondi Junction station is walking distance and provides quick access to the CBD via the eastern suburbs train line.
The suburb contains many Federation and Victorian style detached and semi-detached houses as well as modern architect designed homes. There is not a huge supply of units but those that do exist are a mixture of late 60’s and 70’s (many renovated) and modern architecture styles.
Queens Park was originally part of Bondi Junction and hence is in close proximity to Westfield Bondi Junction which contains many speciality shops as well as supermarkets and department stores. A variety of restaurants can also be found in the shopping centre as well as along Bronte Road in Bondi Junction and Waverley.
Queens Park only offers Moriah College as it is a small suburb and largely taken up by the park. However it does offer easy access to a multitude of primary schools as well as some of Sydney’s highest ranking secondary schools including Sydney Girls and Boys High Schools, Reddam House and Ascham School. The University of New South Wales in Kensington is also close at hand.
Queens Park contains a park of the same name which is part of the expansive Centennial Parklands. The parklands are perfect for cycling, running, horseback riding, picnics and sports such as rugby, soccer and cricket. Bondi Junction contains multiple gyms as well as Event Cinemas Westfield shopping centre. The outdoor moonlight cinema in Centennial Park runs from December to March each year. Alternatively, head to Hoyts Cinema at The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park. For a spot of golf, visit Moore Park or Bondi Golf Clubs. Eastern suburbs beaches can also be reached via a short cycle or bus ride.
Central eastern suburbs location, Centennial Park at your doorstep and easy access to the CBD via Bondi Junction station.
