Maroubra is located approximately 9 kilometres south-east of the CBD in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs in the local government area of Randwick. Maroubra is serviced by buses running up Anzac Parade (with dedicated peak hour bus lanes or clearways for the majority of the trip) into the CBD. In addition, the South East Light Rail network is proposed to extend to neighbouring Kingsford.

Further restaurants including a number of popular Asian options can be found in neighbouring Kingsford.

Schools and Educational Facilities

There are a number of Primary School options in Maroubra whilst Secondary school options include Marist College (boys only), South Sydney High School and St Spyridon College (Independent Greek Orthodox). The University of New South Wales in nearby Kensington is also close at hand.

Recreation and other Amenities

Maroubra is a well-known surfing destination in Sydney and has three main surf breaks. Maroubra Beach stretches for approximately 1km and is a favourite location for beginners and more experienced surfers alike, yet is less crowded than popular tourist destinations like Bondi Beach. Maroubra also offers multiple parks, reserves, gyms and tennis courts. Hoyts cinema is located at nearby Westfield Eastgardens.
