    Where is Peakhurst located?

    Peakhurst is located 21 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of Georges River Council. The main roads are Forest Road, Henry Lawson Drive, Boundary Road, Bonds Road, Isaac Street, Baumans Road. Forest Road, which links to Henry Lawson Drive at Peakhurst, a carriageway that extends through numerous other suburbs in Sydney.

     

    What housing types are predominant?

    Houses are the most common dwelling style dominating the suburb along with a variety of older & newer semi-detached dwellings. 69% of dwellings in the area are Houses. 3% are Units, 21% semi-detached and 7% other/commercial.
    Age mix for the suburb is 0 to 29 yo is 35%, 30 to 49 yo is 25%, 50 & above is 40% so it’s a very attractive suburb for families and retirees.

     

    What attracts home buyers & investors to Peakhurst?

    According to Residex, Peakhurst experienced market growth of around 4.2% from July 2016 to June 2020.
    Peakhurst is only a moment's drive to the M5 distributor and located 21 km south of Sydney CBD. Its closes train station is Padstow with trains getting you to central in around 40 minutes. Numerous bus companies operate routes through Peakhurst connecting the suburb to the Riverwood, Mortdale, Hurstville train stations and major shopping centres, such as Roselands and Hurstville Westville.
    Flanked by the upper reaches of the Georges River, Peakhurst is an aging suburb with many retirees and properties ripe for renovation. Lots of greeneries and birds. Home buyers and renters alike are people who work in the city and do not want the chaos. It is a quiet area with lots of potential.

     

    Restaurants, Shops & Entertainment

    Peakhurst's local business centres are mostly along Forest Road and Boundary Road. Various retail shops, restaurants and cafes are located near the Peakhurst Inn Hotel on Forest Road. Cheat day Cafe is a coffee and burger style cafe on Lorraine Street. If you’re looking for something with a little more finesse, try @ The Corner located at 12 Park St.

    Popular recreational venues include the Grandviews Bowling Club (lawn bowls), tennis courts, Peakhurst Park and the numerous sporting fields located at Gannon's Park. The soccer clubs are Peakhurst United and Forest Rangers.
