    Location and Transport Links

    Lindfield is located approximately 13 kilometres north-west of the CBD in Sydney’s Upper North Shore in the local government area of Ku-ring-gai Council. Lindfield is situated on the North Shore train line and is well serviced by Shore Link, with buses traveling to Chatswood, North Sydney and the City.

    Property types

    Freestanding homes on large quarter acre blocks are commonplace in Lindfield. The East side of the railway line in considered more desirable than the western side which has some steeper terrain and blocks, but expect to pay more in the East side. Housing styles vary from older Victorian and Federation style homes with exposed rafters, Californian bungalows to more modern and larger executive homes. Apartments and townhouses are more concentrated around the highway corridor and radiating out from the train station and local shops.

    Shops and Restaurants

    A wide variety of shops align the highway and station area. A Coles Supermarket on the Pacific Highway is open 24 hours per day. There is also a small local shopping centre (IGA) and café at East Lindfield and a similar community shopping centre at West Lindfield. Lindfield is also a short 5 minute drive from the major commercial hub and retail stores located at Chatswood.
    Some of the more popular cafes and restaurants include: Bella Blue Cafe, Food & Plonk, Alexanders Cafe & Carry, Giulianos, Nick’s Pizzeria, Choo Choo Café, The Delice Store and Phoenix Court Chinese Restaurant.

    Schools and Educational Facilities

    Lindfield is highly sort after by families seeking to be located a close distance to the city and within good proximity to a large number of quality public and private schools. These include Newington College Preparatory School, Highfield Preparatory, Holy Family Primary School, Masada College Primary School, Cromehurst Special School, and Kindergarten School, Lindfield Primary School, Lindfield East Public School. Killara High School and UTS Kuring-gai campus are also nearby.

    Local pre-schools include: East Lindfield Community Preschool, Lady Game Community Kindergarten, Bradfield Park Pre-School & Child Care Centre, Children’s House Montessori Preschool, Masada Pre-school and Thomas Carlyle Childrens’ Centre.

    Recreation and other Amenities

    Lindfield has many beautiful parks and ovals and adjoins Lane Cove National Park, Seven Little Australians Park and Garrigal National Park, both of which boast an array of picnic spots and walking tracks. An immensely popular and picturesque recreational park is Swain Gardens, a permanent reserve in the care of the National Trust, which features a series walking paths, rose gardens, lawn areas and sandstone terraces. Sporting clubs include soccer, cricket, tennis and rugby, and Lindfield is within a short drive to both Killara and Pymble Golf Clubs.
